Why do we need support on the path of self-knowledge?

November 01, 20234 min read

The biggest reward for me as a coach & mentor is reading reviews about profound INTERNAL victories.

Asking questions that are potent and precise at just the right moments to uncover truths that have been alive on the inside all along…

It's truly magical, and a process that most people only feel safe to do when we connected to someone they trust and they feel authentically supported by. It’s truly an honour to create these transformational conditions for my clients 💕

Here is a statement from one of my beloved 1-on-1 6 month mentorship program participants:

“So grateful to have you hold space for me throughout this journey of self exploration and spiritual growth. I am learning to open up and find freedom to BE...Your intuitive response to my energy and shifts is amazing, they are so spot on... when you say "what just happened?" The wave has already rippled through my body, clearing and resetting years of old patterns setting me up for new awareness and healing 💖

This is a first for me, I have never experienced anything like it!

I love how you always so elegantly remind me of the work I've accomplished, even when I feel I've been slack in my new found practices.

We all have a capacity for growth and expansion, but often need that extra help from someone who has experience and has done the work!

To have someone at your side giving gentle guidance and positive reminders helping you through the tough stuff is the greatest reward”!

Why do we need support and accompaniment on the path of self-knowledge and spiritual growth? We should be able to do that ourselves shouldn’t we?

Most often, shifting limiting embodied programming is difficult to overcome alone. In fact it can feel downright gruelling (not to mention slow).

It’s of profound benefit to have the help of somebody who can assist you navigate the complexities of self-discovery and spiritual growth. They can offer insights, reflection, wisdom, and practical advice to keep all the integrations flowing.

Also when others are aware of your journey, you are more likely to stay committed and disciplined. After all, practices require repetition, deepening, integration and feedback. This is why I LOVE group work.

In groups, many people can provide feedback and an array of external perspectives.

The sharing of experiences and reflections from so many different directions can help you see blind spots, gain new insights, and refine your understanding of yourself and your spiritual path. Those of you who have travelled this path know that this journey is never free of emotional challenges. Support from others can give the feeling of comfort, empathy, and a safe space to express and process your feelings. Reminding you that you’re not alone, a reminder that is worth it’s weight in growth-gold 😉

Interacting with others who share similar goals and experiences can be motivating and inspiring, and helps you build resilience.

Why is it important to remind yourself of the work you've done and continue new practices?

Reflecting on the work you've done and the progress you've made serves as a reminder of how far you've come. It can motivate you to keep going & growing, while at the same time not lose perspective of the momentum you've built.

Continuing with new practices and routines helps reinforce intentionally chosen habits.

The more consistently you engage in these practices, the more they become ingrained in your daily life. We all know how motivation can fluctuate over time (my workout routines prove it in fact 😜)

By working on new practices and reminding yourself of your past achievements, you can reignite your motivation and enthusiasm. My husband and I celebrate something different every week on our date night in fact, it’s a wonderful practice that I highly recommend, forced CELEBRATION 🎉

My clients LOVE it when we go over how much they’ve grown, things they would just skim over without me reflecting it back to them. We just don’t remember to look back unless we make a point of it.

Do you remind yourself of how much you’ve grown and changed?

Do you praise yourself for your progress and do you share the results with others so they can celebrate with you?

Do you need someone who can celebrate you & assist you on your journey back home to yourself?
